A chat with Alexis
What made you want a career in finance?
I have always been interested in keeping track of how much money I made, what I spent, and how much I could save since my very first job in the restaurant and food service industry at 15 years old. That passion grew when I went to college and explored business classes. I really enjoy learning about how to properly save, invest, and spend your money to reach goals while also enjoying life.
What do you like best about being part of the SFP family?
Joining the company during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic and working from home, I was worried it would be hard to make connections and relationships with everyone compared to being in the office. I quickly learned how welcoming everyone was, and pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and confident I became with the team while dealing with such a challenging time period.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
I am very proud of earning my bachelor’s degree in Finance. I am also excited to be in this position and to obtain my Series 7, and Series 66 licenses in the near future.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I love doing anything that can get me outside whether that’s bike riding, hiking, or spending the day in Pittsburgh. I also enjoy finding a great show to binge watch on a relaxing day.
What are you passionate in your personal life?
Spending time with my friends, family, and my chocolate lab, Codie, are especially important to me. I also love to listen to music and podcasts.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
I went to Rome in 2016. I absolutely loved touring the city and seeing the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and of course trying all the amazing food. I have never been anywhere else outside of the country, but I would love to go back in a couple years.
