Daniel O’Connor is an Associate Portfolio Manager at Signature Financial Planning. Prior to joining the firm in May of 2021, he worked in investment operations and accounting for 3 years. He has a passion for investment research and enjoys analyzing companies and providing clients with insights into exciting opportunities. Besides research, Daniel is involved with trading and due diligence in his day-to-day work.
Knowing the value of humility and the importance of being a good listener, he incorporates both to understand what motivates his clients and uses that to help them reach their investment goals. He also recognizes that not a day should go by without learning something new, which he pours into his investment research and pursuit of new opportunities for his clients.
Daniel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from Saint Vincent College. He is originally from Fredericksburg, VA, and now resides in Pittsburgh.

What made you want a career in finance?
I love working with numbers and working with people. The markets are exciting and the opportunity to help other people achieve investment goals is what keeps me moving.
What do you like best about being a part of the Signature Financial Planning Family?
The ability to tailor investment strategies, incorporate client values, and provide more personalized services is what sets Signature apart. I want to help clients get excited about investing. I am blessed to work with talented and insightful co-workers who push me to excel each day.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
My academic success graduating from Saint Vincent is an accomplishment I value greatly. A CFA® charter is next on my list.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I enjoy a lot of different hobbies, and I am always down to try something new, no matter how niche.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
I find joy in the successes of my friends, family, and co-workers. It is the best feeling to get an excited phone call from a sibling or friend who wants to share news of a recent victory or new opportunity. I use the successes of others as motivation to constantly level up my own skills.
