Emily joined the Signature Financial Planning team in March of 2022 as a client services specialist. She spends her days supporting the advisory team, working one-on-one with clients, and handling the behind-the-scenes processes that keep client accounts in order. Her passion for critical thinking and problem solving make her an excellent advocate for clients as she helps them navigate their financial lives.

A Pennsylvania native, Emily grew up in Scranton before moving to Indiana, Pennsylvania to pursue a marketing degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, she found herself working in finance where she fell in love with numbers, leading her to a career at Signature. Emily prides herself on her relatability, using her personal experiences in finance to help clients understand the more complex concepts within their plans.

Because she moved here to join the Signature team, Emily is still new to the Pittsburgh area and spends her free time exploring the city she now calls home. She is also an avid foodie and is always open to restaurant recommendations in exchange for her favorite recipes.

A chat with Emily

Why did you get involved in the financial planning industry?

I gravitated towards the financial planning industry because it allows me to combine the two concepts I enjoy most: helping people and solving problems. Getting to use the critical and analytical thinking skills I have honed during my career to improve the financial situations of our clients is something that brings me a lot of joy and fulfillment.

What would you tell a potential client about the benefits of working with you directly?

I am always determined to go above and beyond the expectations of our clients. I am a great active listener and take the time to truly understand the wants and needs of the client, seeing them each as unique individuals rather than just a name on a roster. I strive to create the best experience possible tailored to each client, and I am hopeful that effort is apparent for all who work with me.

What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?

I would say my greatest accomplishment was graduating with my bachelor’s degree in marketing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I was waitressing almost full-time during college, so being able to balance work while in school full-time was very difficult and I am proud that I was able to succeed in both simultaneously.

What do you love to do outside of work?

I really enjoy being active in my free time, especially skiing and playing tennis. I love to cook and can often be found watching Gordon Ramsey and other cooking shows. Spending time with my family and friends is also very important to me, and we all love to get together to watch movies, play board games, go on hikes, go bowling, or explore the Pittsburgh area.
